Marianne’s Multi-stone Necklace

by Joy Masters on August 6, 2009

My boss is pretty cool. Really! She always forgets my website,  so this is not a kiss up since she will probably never find her way back here.  It was her birthday this week and I made a necklace of her favorite colors – browns, greens, brown, gold and, of course, brown.

Did I mention she likes brown? Yep. She does.

For Marianne’s necklace I used size 6 silk cord in green. The knots were not thick enough to hold the square glass beads in place (neither was size 10, I tried). The beads would slip right over the knots and not stay in place. I added tiny little gold glass seed beads on either side of the bigger beads and those were small enough to keep everything in place.

Made with green silk cord (if you were paying attention), foil-lined brown and gold squares- some with green inside too, smoky quartz cubes and nuggets, free-form/natural/irregular green garnet beads and gold-filled oval filigree pearl clasp. Again, the pictures don’t do the colors justice. I will have to work on that.
