Artbeads: Spring has Sprung!

by Joy Masters on April 13, 2010

Although technically Spring was officially March 20, depending on where in the world you live, you may be disagreeing with that right now. Also, if you are in the Southern Hemisphere, you are preparing for Winter at the moment. And if you are… ok, I have digressed enough for one paragraph.

To me, Spring is mud, dirty snow and the tiniest of little green buds poking through it all. Hey, I’m from Syracuse. One year, it snowed on Mother’s Day there. So you can see what I am driving at here. This is what the Beauty of Spring is to this chicky.

Artbeads has most generously provided me some kick-butt glass leaf beads and silk ribbon. I took the olive/copper glass leaf beads(so pretty and multi-dimensional), tiger’s eye yellow-green glass fan leaf beads, and wrapped them around the forest green hand-dyed silk ribbon (Gorgeous green!) with brass artwire, in a vine like fashion. The gold-plated leaf and flower clasp is wire-wrapped around the ends of the ribbon for a pretty organic and Springy type feel. Huh? Yeah! Spring.

This can be worn as a necklace or wrapped around the wrist as a bracelet.

I love this clasp. It looks so luxe!
